There are 13 rules for the successful Moscow trip. Read them carefully and lough out loud. Then think a bit and take some points as an instruction for your journey.
- If nobody smile and greet you in a shop and everybody stand with a gloomy kind potter about cash desk, it does not mean that there is a robbery or the seller feels personal hostility to tourists. The complacent mood of the seller is a silence and respectful ignoring of the buyer. If seller is not in the mood or something is going wrong, he will tell about it to the traveller.
- If you are going to buy something in the downtown shop, you should do the next: draw by gestures the attention of the seller, to specify the thing what you need in, show on fingers necessary number and transfer money.
- If you want to arrive to the Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo order a taxi with a phone call to a taxi service or go to the Moscow with "Aeroexpress train". Fixed-route taxis come to the city suburb where you can lose as easy as shelling pears, and private cars can and not take the tourist there.
- Taxi which is taken at Savelovsky or Paveletsky station will cost several times more than one called to the airport by the phone.
- You can buy the ticket for the Moscow tube (metro) only in the underground. Forget about tobacco and news-stands shops. The underground is a separate city. It is under the it's own rules and it is protected by the guards. By the way, about the travel card: you should forget about operating hour card, daily card, three days or week card either. Each trip should be paid separately. Multi trips tickets on 5-10-20 will cost you hardly cheaply.
- If you have entered to the tube (metro) once you can go for a drive though all the day and observe remarkable central stations. It is possible even to eat in transitions from a line on a line burrito and pepsi-cola, and sometimes it is possible to get hold and an instant coffee in booths.Toilets here are not present. And even portable blue toilet cabines are far from stations and there are not at each metro station. And there are they only on a surface certainly.
- The ticket for the bus, tram or trolley bus can be got at the driver. He will not be able to give you change from a large denomination most likely. Or you can buy them in one of orange boxes near to a stop. If you are lucky you can to see them opened. It is a problem even for Muscovites.
- You should enter to the ground transport through forward door even if there are half of city want to enter with you.
- Sometimes in Moscow began to pass pedestrians on green light on pedestrian crossings, but the penalty for brought down is still not so great that drivers reflected on it. Also there is no guarantee that on multistrip road at once all automobile owners simultaneously will concede. Therefore choose underground pedestrian ways. There is the chance to be overtaken there by car is insignificant. Though it is not equal to zero.
- Passing streets on traffic light free zones is not recommended. Even if there is "zebra" available. Really three from ten drivers will brake most likely if they see the person before. However you never can guess for certain. And for the Russian roulette game there are a lot of faster and less bulky devices.
- It is surprising but the fact is that foreigners in Russia pay more for visiting of museums and art galleries and also historical monuments than Russian. And this is not because of discounts for local population. It is taking of money of rich capitalists which was organised in a Soviet period in favour of socialist art.
- Going to the Red Square do not forget to take your passport and the document confirming check in in hotel. And do not take a lot of money.
- Do not forget! Before leaving hotel it is necessary to declare to the housekeeping staff and the parlourmaid will want to come into number to check up whether all is perfectly in order. Tourist need in it because if something will be gone from a room between its check out and arrival of the parlourmaid the difference can be included on the bill.
